Michael Torres

Chief Executive Officer & Founder

Michael Torres is CEO and Founder of Albatross AI Capital, where he leads the firm's overall investment strategy and portfolio construction. He founded the firm in 2022 with the conviction that AI infrastructure would become the most valuable category in enterprise technology. Prior to founding Albatross, Michael spent a decade at leading technology companies building distributed systems and AI platforms. His investment philosophy centers on identifying technical moats early — before the market prices them in — and partnering with founding teams who demonstrate rare depth of engineering judgment alongside commercial ambition.

Carlos Mendez

Managing Director

Carlos Mendez leads sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio support at Albatross AI Capital, with a particular focus on developer tools and MLOps platforms. Before joining Albatross, Carlos held engineering leadership roles at several high-growth developer infrastructure companies, where he led teams responsible for API design, platform scalability, and developer experience. His operational background gives Albatross a differentiated edge in evaluating technical claims and supporting portfolio companies through their critical early scaling phases.

Liam Griffiths

Senior Associate

Liam Griffiths supports investment research and portfolio operations at Albatross AI Capital, covering AI compute infrastructure, model serving platforms, and the open-source tooling ecosystem. Prior to joining the firm, Liam worked in quantitative research and data infrastructure roles at technology-focused investment firms. He brings strong analytical rigor to market mapping, competitive analysis, and technical benchmarking, helping the team identify inflection points in AI infrastructure categories before they reach mainstream attention.
